It’s the ideal pre-beach, post-beach and instead-of-the-beach spot for those looking to enjoy a fresh pint.

Pilot House

Smartmouth’s newest location is called “Pilot House,” a name that pays tribute to the area’s nautical and aviation roots as well as the facility’s core function of producing experimental and creative beers. A “pilot house” is traditionally the name for a boat’s bridge and a “pilot batch” is the term used to describe the trial brew of a new beer in the brewhouse. This new facility continues our desire to brew quality craft beer with an emphasis on flavor over flash.

FOOD TRUCKS + EVENTS

In addition to great beer and smiling faces, we almost always have a food truck hanging out and something fun in the works, from trivia nights and live bands to special events and beer releases.

BEERS TO GO

If you’re looking to enjoy delicious Smartmouth beer on the home-front, at the beach, you’re in luck. We offer a smorgasboard of ways for you to house and transport our beer. All drafts on tap are available in both 32oz and 64 oz growlers. We also offer our year-round beers and current seasonal in 12oz six-pack cans. Occasionally we offer special limited releases in 16oz four-pack cans or 750ml bottles.

If you’d like to order a keg for your party, we offer two different sizes for purchase: A sixtel holds about 40 beers and a half-barrel holds approximately 120. Please email Clint for pricing and to reserve your favorite style.

LOCATION AND PARKING
There is parking available in our lot on the 33rd street side of our building as well as along 33rd Street. There is also a public lot across Pacific Avenue with an entrance on 34th street. We also have several bike racks available and are handicap accessible. We are also golf-kart friendly. Please be mindful of parking signage and limitations in the immediate areas surrounding the brewery. You may get towed.
FOOD
We make sure to schedule one of the many local food trucks when our tasting room is open. We also have several snacks available for purchase. East Shore pretzels, salted Virginia peanuts, and Jody’s Popcorn are available for $3 each.
KID FRIENDLY
We are very family and kid-friendly offering a variety games that kids can play on the premises. We also offer several non-alcoholic beverages including soda and juice boxes.
PET FRIENDLY
We love our furry friends but ask that they remain outside. We follow the Virginia Health Department rules that do not allow pets (unless service animals) inside food and beverage establishments.
