Smartmouth Brewing Co. seeks a creative, positive, and energetic individual as its full-time Event and Social Media Manager. This position will work closely with our management team to 1) keep content on our social media fresh and relevant, and 2) create, plan, and implement events at our two tasting rooms that drive sales and enhance our community.

Below is a list of primary responsibilities and our target skills and traits. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience but there is no substitute for attitude and resiliency. You must live in or be willing to relocate to the Hampton Roads area. All are welcome to apply.

Social Media

Manage accounts and engage followers on our social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, etc.

Create and implement a social media strategy & schedule

Produce photo/video/graphic content for posts, reels, videos, etc.

Manage an internal posting calendar with dates for event and beer releases

Draft the Word of ‘Mouth Weekly Newsletter

Find new opportunities or platforms to promote releases and events

Track analytics to gauge interest in events and releases

Keep up with social media trends to keep our content relevant and engaging.

Events

Propose fresh and innovative ideas for events to keep things interesting and lively

Work with the team to create and execute events at both locations

Track and plan cost and promotional expenses for each event and submit a budget to be approved by the President

Work with vendors, bands, community organizations, and others on all details of Smartmouth-hosted events

Contacts within the community are extremely helpful for booking bands, finding vendors, etc.

Weekly recurring events (Trivia, Taco night, etc.) are an important facet of this job

Book all live entertainment for both locations

Manage internal communications on events to keep everyone informed

Create strategic partnerships for events/beer releases
