In addition to brewing tasty beer for the craft nerds and hop heads of Virginia, we run two tasting rooms in the region: Norfolk Headquarters, nestled in the Chelsea district of Ghent, and the Virginia Beach Pilot House, located just a stone's throw from the Oceanfront.
Both locations pour freshly brewed Smartmouth beers and seltzers and our Virginia Beach location offers wine & hard cider. We go from professional to party animal and regularly host events ranging from office gatherings to wedding receptions and birthday shindigs. We’re lucky to have such accommodating spaces and love sharing them with local businesses and beer fans.

COME PARTY WITH US!
We can accommodate rentals of half of our tasting room, the entire space or just a table or two, depending on the size/needs of your party. Our space rental varies depending on the day/night of the week, the timeframe and the number of people you plan to host. We invite you to come by for a beer (on us) so we can give you a tour of the space.

NORFOLK TASTING ROOM AND WAREHOUSE
We offer two different spaces in Norfolk - our original main Tasting Room and our new Warehouse space - to groups to host events. We can also reserve tables if you do not require privacy. Lots of elements factor into the price, including the length of your event, the day of the week, the time of day and how many guests you anticipate hosting. With just a few specifics from you, we're happy to provide a quote. ![]()
If your party is on the smaller side, we can reserve a table or two for you with some notice. It is just $25 a table and (depending on the location) can seat from 10-12 people. ![]()
We have an array of delicious beer to offer your guests. You will have access to our entire menu, and so will be charged per beer. ![]()
We stock a variety of NA beers, sodas, seltzers, and juice boxes. We also have rotating craft drinks like root beer, lemonade, and cream soda. 
We serve a hard seltzer that we make in-house. Ask our team for the current offering. Virginia Beach offers wine & cider. ![]()
Virginia Beach: We offer several styles of wine and cider that are available to all private events.
Norfolk: As beer fanatics, we can't imagine drinking anything else; however, as humans, we understand that tastes vary. So, you may bring wine, but know that it will entail a little effort on your part. The Commonwealth of Virginia requires that you obtain an ABC banquet license, as our permitting does not cover alcoholic beverages made elsewhere. You can do this online for a fee of $55 with at least three weeks' notice. You will need to provide your own cups and have someone available to pour your wine. Our staff is not permitted to handle that aspect of your event. We will add a corkage fee of $12 per bottle to your tab.![]()

Yes. We have kids. We like kids. We ask that they be supervised and remain in the space that you have rented. As for dogs, well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. ![]()
One of the cool aspects of hosting your event at Smartmouth is the opportunity to tailor it to your liking. Our Norfolk location has Ghost Kitchen as a permanent food truck on site that can also do catering. The Pilot House has wood-fired sourdough pizza from Chelsea Bakehouse on site. You may also prepare and bring your own noshes. Or, we can share with you a list of caterers and food trucks that serve a wide range of fare and can customize a menu for your party. ![]()
You may connect your device to our stereo system, choose a playlist from our streaming service provider or hire musicians. ![]()

Certainly. We are happy to help you situate our space to your liking. You are welcome to use the tables and chairs that we have on hand. Be sure to discuss your needs with our party person, as you may need to rent additional items to supplement our inventory. ![]()
Sure. We just ask that you don't stick tape to our walls or use confetti or glitter. You'll need to either clean up the decorations immediately after your party or hire our team to do it for you. Our event planner will help you determine which way to go. ![]()
