There comes a time in every man’s life when he must ask himself – Should I continue working my steady and lucrative job or should I just quit and make beer? Well, for Norfolk-native Porter Hardy, the decision was a no-brainer. In 2012, the former home-brewer (and now former lawyer) traded his ties in for tap handles, and never looked back. With a stellar team around him, Porter entered un-fermented waters as one of the original craft breweries to set up shop in Hampton Roads.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Smartmouth is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, or related medical condition), marital status, national origin, age, disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other basis prohibited by federal, state, or local laws. We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination of employees, customers, or vendors in any form. This applies to all employees, vendors, and customers while on company property, on company time, and at company-sponsored events.

Violations of this Code of Conduct:
Smartmouth has an internal Employee Relations Committee (ERC) to handle internal reports of violations. The ERC will investigate each matter brought before it and apply the appropriate disciplinary action, as warranted.
In addition, any guest, vendor, or visitor that violates Smartmouth’s Code of Conduct will be asked to leave, and potentially, barred from returning.
Any guest, vendor or visitor who has an issue with our staff may report the incident to us via email at email@example.com. All reports of violations of this Code of Conduct will be acknowledged and handled by the Smartmouth ERC.
